Check a Contact CSV Before HubSpot Import

Sales and CRM contact lists often come from spreadsheets, exports, vendors, or older systems. Before import, check common file-level issues such as duplicate email values, blank headers, extra whitespace, weird characters, and rows that do not line up.

Quick checklist

  • Check duplicate email values
  • Review blank email rows
  • Look for extra spaces around emails and headers
  • Review uneven rows before import
  • Check weird or garbled characters
  • Download review rows for flagged contacts

Why contact CSV imports get messy

A contact CSV may combine rows from sales lists, customer exports, lead vendors, or old spreadsheets. Duplicate emails, blank fields, shifted columns, and odd characters can make the import harder to review.

Argon helps you check file-level issues before import. It does not connect to HubSpot or update records.

What to inspect before uploading

Review email columns, required-looking headers, duplicate values, and rows with missing or extra columns. Also check whether Excel changed long IDs, ZIP codes, or date-like fields before the CSV was saved.

Use the review rows export to inspect rows that Argon flagged without changing your original file.

Argon flags common file-format and structure issues for review. It does not guarantee platform import success.

Argon checks file-level issues only. It does not deduplicate records inside HubSpot.
